At your initial meeting with your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator, she will check that you have all of the relevant documents needed in orderforyou to get your license (details of which can be found on next page). Your wedding Co-ordinator will collect the enclosed completed particulars form from you for the Town Hall to prepare your licence. Your wedding Co-ordinator will then confirm your appointment with the Town Hall and meet you at the relevant town hall for the appointment.

For Town Hall and Monastery Church weddings you will need to give the names and passport numbers of two people who can witness the wedding for you. They must be over 18 years old, they can be your relatives or friends. Don’t worry if you have no one accompanying you for the wedding, your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator and a Town Hall / Church official can be your witnesses.

4. YourTown Hall Declaration Appointment

The easiest way for you to get to the Town Hall is by taxi. Your hotel reception or wedding co-ordinator will be happy to arrange one for you. Your Thomas Cook wedding co-ordinator will meet you at the Town Hall and accompany you throughout the appointment.

If you do not hold a British Passport please contact the weddings department as extra documents are required.

The documents that you will need to bring to the Town Hall with you are:

You will be asked to sign some paperwork, firstly a declaration, which is similar to your affidavits to say that you are free and single to marry. The other is your particular’s form (which will have been re-typed in the Town Hall’s format.) Please check these very carefully for any mistakes. If any have been made, then please correct and then sign. It is vital that the information on this form is correct, as this is the information that will appear on your marriage certificate. If you sign this form and it has incorrect information then your wedding certificate will be incorrect and cannot be changed.

God’s blessing on them, to share their joy and to celebrate their love.

Marriage is gift of God in creation through which man and wife may know the grace of God. It is given that as man and woman grow together in love and trust, they shall be united with one another in heart, body and mind, as Christ is united with his bride, the church.

The gift of marriage brings husband and wife together in the delight and tenderness of sexual union and joyful commitment to the end of their lives. It is given as the foundation of family life in which children are (born and) nurtured and in which each member of the family, in good times and come together to witness the marriage of

It is given as the foundation of family life in which children are (born and) nurtured and in which each member of the family, in good times and in bad, may find strenght, companionship and comfort, and grow to maturity in love.

Marriage is a way of life made holy by God and blessed by the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with those celebrating a wedding at Cana in Galilee. Marriage is a sign of unity and loyalty which all should uphold and honour. It enriches society and strengthens community. No one should enter into it lightly or selfishly but reverently and responsibly in the sight of almighty God.

………..And………..Are now to enter this way of life. They will each give their consent to the other and make solemn vows, and in token they will (each) give and receive a ring. We pray with them that Holy Spirit will guide and strengthen them, that they may fulfil God’s purposes for the whole of their earthly life together.

2. Wedding Do’s and Dont’s

How to have a beautiful stress free wedding.

DO splash out on the things you simply can’t do without.

DON’T ask Uncle Pat to take your wedding photos. Your wedding photos are biggest reminders of your wedding day so hire a professional.

DO choose a bouquet that compliments your wedding colour schene. The bouquet is important as an accessory but it shouldn’t overpoweryour wedding dress.

DON’T go for a completely different look on your wedding day. Your man loves way you are so keep your makeup natural.

DON’T forget to arrive in style in a beautiful wedding car or horse & carriage.

DO alter the custom of giving away the bride to suit your situation.

DO go for a cake to suit your taste buds. More couples are having flavoured sponge cakes such as chocolate.

DON’T get obsessed with smaller details. There is no point worrying about everything being perfect. Instead, sit back and relax.

DO take time to soak up the atmospere with your new husband or wife. Distance yourself from the party for a couple of minutes at various intervals to reconnect and simply enjoy basking in the limelight of your special day.

DO take advantage of your Thomas Cook wedding co-ordinator’s knowledge and expertise so that you can feel confident that your day will run smoothly and totally stress free.

1. How can we get to the Wedding?

The traditional way is by a decorated wedding car, which is usually a black or white air conditioned 4 seater Mercedes decorated with ribbon for your special day. You can also have a 6 seater decorated car.

However if you are looking for something a little bit different then why not try a romantic Horse & Carriage. (This will depend on where you are staying you may have to go part of the way in a car due to the heat and distance involved).

We can also arrange additional transport for your guests, either a minibus or a coach. The choice is yours, but however you go you will feel like a million dollars as the passing crowd will stop and gaze in awe and motorists toot their horns to leave you in no doubt that this is your Big Day.

* For wedding and private hire please see your wedding co-ordinator.

2. THE ICING ON THE CAKE

After the ceremony it is usually back to the hotel or reception venue for a champagne toast and of course the cutting of the cake.

You will have a choice of cakes including sponge or fruit in a choice of one or two tiers. You could even have one tier fruit and one tier sponge.

Special cakes are available please speak to your Thomas Cook Wedding Co-ordinator.

The cakes are generally white in design and decorated with a floral decoration. However if you have brought your own decoration then please give this to your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator. She will arrange for them to be put on the cake for you.

3. Can you suggest a Hairstylist / Beautician

Yes we can! Most hotels have hair dressing salons in them, which you can use for convenience. Speak to your wedding Co-ordinator who will be able to advise you on what services and facilities the salon can offer.

Your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator will be able to advise you on the options for your self and your wedding party.

The appointments will be made to ensure that you have enough time to get ready and add those finishing touches. If you use the salon in the hotel it is better to make the appointments directly with the salon.

4. WHAT ABOUT THE RECEPTION ? WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE?

By now the pre wedding jitters should have disappeared, you can relax from the posing and permanent smiles for the photographer and the celebrations can begin!.

No reception is too big or too small and whatever your needs, they can be catered for. Some people choose to have a simple affair, canape’s and champagne, others like to have the full monty with a buffet / sit down meal, bar or waiter service and a disco or band.

You have a few options to choose from.

As you will spend the majority of time in your accommodation it is nice on your big day to get out of the hotel and do something a little bit different, we have put together a selection of ideas for you to choose from.

We have selected some of the best local restaurants, that you can choose from ranging from traditional taverns, chic bistro’s, harbour front restaurants, Mediterranean cuisine and flambe’s. They all offer various different menus and some can even offer entertainment.

Your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator will be able to show you menus and discuss all your requirements with you at your initial meeting and make the best recommendations to you for your party.

Receptions can be held within the hotel, this is purely for convenience and you can discuss your requirements with the food and beverage department within your accommodation.

Exquisite sunsets, sparkling waters, afternoon breezes and stunning coastlines – what could be more romantic than hosting your wedding reception onboard a luxury catamaran? A first class service and UNIQUE venue for a truly memorable event. Cruise along the coastline as the sun sets leaving you with images to relive your special day. All that is left is for you do is sit back, relax and watch your dream come true… Please contact your rep for more information.

Your Thomas Cook wedding Co-ordinator will be able to liaise between you and the reception venue to discuss your requirements with you and go over all the details. What better way to get some even more fantastic memories.
